Bob's Magical Tech-Ed Dream...
Students in Mr. Cousineau's Independent Study class decided to produce a promotional video for the department. Drawing on the fictional student "Bob" and his study hall dream, the class created an overview of the three Technology Education program areas: Photography, Engineering Graphics and Graphic Communications. Was it just a dream? See for yourself...
Student & Teacher attend NAPP Seminar
Friday November 4th, Mr. Cousineau attended the National Association of PhotoShop Professionals "Power User" seminar. Jeff Bope, Jon Stroker, both Graphic Communications Independent Study students, and Spencer McCoy, former Graphic Communications student, also managed to get their parents to allow them to attend during school hours.
By the end of the day long seminar, taught by PhotoShop guru and noted author Dave Cross, the students were blown away by the tips and tricks they learned.
"The seminar was a great learning experience that made me want to go home and try out what I learned right away" Jeff Bope said. Spencer was inspired to try new things, and by Monday Jon Stroker had nearly memorized the seminar course book.
Mr. Cousineau found the seminar to be one of the best he's attended, and has already shown many of the techniques to his Independent study students.
New Face in Central Tech Ed
If you visit the CAD lab in Room 16 you'll notice that long time fixture and all around good guy and veteran teacher Mr. Schlueter is missing. Pete retired at the end of the 04-05' school year after a full career of teaching and coaching at Hinsdale Central.
Taking over the Engineering Graphics program this year is our newest member, Jon Schmidt. Jon comes to us from Illinois State University, where he student taught last spring in Mr. Schlueter's classes. We welcome him to the department, and to Central.
Twelve Hinsdale Central Architecture and Engineering Graphics selected from Mr. Schlueter's and Mr. Krueger's classes competed at the Illinois Drafting Educator's Association Regional Drafting Competion in early March. Pictured in the group photo are:
