Hinsdale Central Technology Education Department

The Technology Education Department of Hinsdale Central High School offers students rich opportunities to develop skills used in various technology fields. The curricular programs of the department include Engineering Graphics, Graphic Communications, and Photography. Each of these programs provides students with complete course sequences to fully develop their potential in their area(s) of interest. Independent study options are also available for students who wish to go above and beyond the courses offered.

The department curriculum provides students with preparation for post-high school studies while helping students develop career skills and interests. Students considering careers like Engineering, Architecture, Public Relations, Advertising, Web Design, Photography, and Journalism will find various course opportunities for skill development and exploration. Students simply wishing to delve into the technical and creative uses of computer and photographic technology will also find appealing course selections.

Our department is equipped with some of the latest hardware and software, enabling our students to develop sophisticated end products, such as, two-dimensional CAD drawings, three-dimensional animated designs, professional-looking websites, and technically sound and aesthetically pleasing photographs in both traditional and digital formats. Our department courses are taught by highly skilled professionals in their areas of expertise, bringing extensive years of real world and academic experience to the courses they teach.
